History

Murphy Tomatoes began operations in 1948, when founder Oscar P. Murphy selected the first Arkansas and Texas tomatoes available and sold them in the Houston area. His business grew quickly, as well as his family. Today, four generations of Murphys have entered the family business, bringing a sense of loyalty and history to their passion for tomatoes and the produce business.

Growing

O.P. Murphy & Sons, Inc. is our grower and shipper operation in Soledad, California. We grow field grown romas and rounds from June through November. We also source tomatoes year around from Florida, Mexico, Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina. We have built long standing relationships with tomato growers across the United States and Mexico.
